Do you have a list of parts you are using? When is the starting date and time? The link to the video feed? I would like to watch it happen.

The build is May 16th - May 18th.

That is when the live video will happen. Until then there will be a significant amount of post on all the decisions and how-to that goes into the build.

There will also be a bunch of videos that will be produced in full HD after the build is over.

The parts list is just starting to unfold, and you can follow along on the 48hour camaro website:

http://www.48hourcamaro.com

We'll also be posting more details here in the coming days and weeks.

Gotta ask....

What's the point? Why the 48 hour deadline?

Well, it’s NOT simply to see how fast it can be done…that really serves no purpose in the end. What we ARE trying to do is to demonstrate how EASY it can be to build a car like this.

The 48 Hour Time frame makes live video possible. Even though the build (and live streaming content) will take place starting May 16th, there will be a entire series of detailed tech videos in full HD that will be released after the build is completed.

Between now and then, there will be all the decisions that folks need to make during a build like this... and that too will be published for folks to follow along.

Everyone who has ever turned a wrench on a project knows there are times of frustration when it seems like things aren't going to work they way you want them to. Having more $$ to dump into the project doesn't make these things go away. It takes experience, know-how, and the right combination of parts.

The purpose of the 48 Hour Camaro project is to get some of the top product manufactures together and show how "easy" it is to transform a car with their products and most importantly - provide tech straight from the source on how to avoid getting into those positions that can cause a project to run-a-ground.

According to the website, the work is going to be done at Ridetech:

THE BUILD:

Monday, May 16th – Wednesday, May 18th
Monday at 8AM, the 1967 Camaro will DRIVE into the RideTech shop, fully functioning and road worthy – albeit a little on the “average” side of the scale. Wednesday at midnight, the Camaro will DRIVE out of the RideTech Shop, fully functioning and road worthy – just substantially more capable.
OK, for the swift math folks out there, you will notice that is THREE days – so how is this a 48 Hour Camaro? Well, to give the guys doing the work at least a little rest, we will build in 3 shifts of 16 hours each…(8:00AM to Midnight). That still ads up to 48 and should ensure we still have the energy to tackle the drive to Nashville on the final day.

This should be fun to watch...great idea! So far looking at the parts list I don't forsee any problems. Proven parts that should actually fit. Now if they were changing body panels with repop crap that would be another story! The key here is starting with a solid car and taking it to a shop that can do this with there eyes closed.
