Default Almost ready for welding my upper mounts ( C5 suspension in a Mopar )

OK, My upper mounts will be adjustable for roll center & a slotted center bar for the upper control arm. I'm shooting for 1 degree neg camber & 6 degrees pos on caster initial setting before shims. Am I cutting my numbers to close for a solid welded mount?

I don't know if I would go a full degree on camber unless this will be a track only car, maybe shoot for -.25 or -.5. Over a degree of negative camber driven frequently will generally wear tires excessively.

6 degrees of caster is good but getting all of it with the upper control arm may be too much on a first gen. With a fixed lower ball joint position, moving the upper rearward to achieve 6 degrees sometimes results in tire rubbing issues. A lot of companies move the lower ball joint forward a few degrees and the upper rearward a few degrees to achieve this much caster. this way the wheel position in the wheelwell remains un-altered.

Thanks Brett, The car is a 70 Challenger convert. I took into consideration that I'm moving the front wheels forward 4" from stock . I'll loose some of that with the 6-8 degree castor & will cut the front fenders after my front is locked down. I want to leave room for shimming & I'm just worried that I won't be leaving enough adjustment if I go @ -.25 or so.. But then again I don't want a huge shim pack though like factory GM cars..

Couple of questions since I'm also building a Challenger.
Why are you moving your front wheels 4" forward? Looks, tire clearance, distribution?

What do you have planned for your UCA mounts and shock mounts at the frame? I see what you did for the crossmember. Will you graft a steel riser on top of your stock frame profile that will incorporate the mounts similar to an AME mount? When I was measuring this it seemed like the rear mount where the stock framerail slopes down would be 3-4" above the stock rail. Maybe not since you are pushing your centerline forward by 4"?

Why am I moving them forward, Cuz it just looks cool!
I have a thing for early 70's Cuda & challenger Funny cars..
The challenger has such a long fender that the tire looks better pulled forward.. https://lateral-g.net/forums/show...9&postcount=73
The G Force cuda is a great example of the stretched nose look....

I have put those upper mounts on some race cars and have always liked them. Just be sure to gusset them on each side. I wouldnt be to concerned with anti-dive. The only thing that is good for is when your in a corner and on the brakes at the same time. Just my opinion. But i do love those upper mounts!

I plan on tying them into the front cage bars & the upper shock mount somehow, Just don't know how until I get to that point.

Are those upper mounts for C5/C6? I'm assuming that is what you are planning on using from the post title? I've always assumed they were for more of a typical older GM style mount.

I'm under the impression that I can get a solid cross bar, If not then it will have to be a custom upper arm or stock C5 mounts......
