Default gas tank placement. best place???

ok. i have a 64 dart convertible i plan on putting a 5,7 0r 6.1 hemi in sometime down the road. i know the gas tank will have to be switched over to a fuel injection type tank/pump. i dont want a fuel cell in the trunk. ill have to have a new tank made i guess, unless the old factory type tank can be sent out and moded with a new intank fuel pump setup. question is, do i try to keep it where the factory had it, which is over the axles in front of the spare tire hole, or do i cut the spare tire hole out and put the new gas tank under the trunk floor where the spare used to go? isnt it better to have wieght over the axles instead of further back towards the bumper? also keeping the gas tank in its original spot would probably keep my fuel tank neck in its orginal spot, or would it?.any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. thanks

check with ricks hot rod shop, im sure they can whip somethin up for ya, as for where to put it, thats 100% up to you, if you want the stock filler location and have no need to cut out the spare tire, then that is probably the best place.

if you are wanting to make it bigger, or need to move it to clear room for other components(rear suspension), then putting it under the trunk floor might be better.
