Default What are you wetsanding clearcoat with?

What procedures are you guys using to finish sand the clearcoats. I have heard some guys are using a applying 2 coats of hi solids clear to the topcoat, wet sanding with 1000 grit paper reclearing 2 more coats and then wet sanding 1500,2000,3000 for a super flat no orange peel finish.

Thanks in advance

Default sanding clearcoat

I would recomend you shoot aleast 3 coats. You will get the car much straighter and flat if you sand with aleast 600 wet. I know of plenty of guys using spi clear that are doing 3 coats and 400 dry and 3 more. If you have any questions feel free to pm me . Joe

How long must you wait before hitting it with sand paper?

We cut all of our jobs with 1200 - 1500 to start and then go to 2000 and finish in 3000. We do all of this dry. With our paint and booths, we can start within an hour of completion of the bake cycle.

This should be in the paint / body section.
