Default 50-60 Volkswagon Bugs smashed

Man I hate to see it. A kid I went to school with had over 50-60 bugs smashed the other day. His father passed away his senior year and the kid has special needs and his aunt and uncle have been taking care of him.

I feel sorry for him in his situation and I told them if they ever go to sell the cars that I would help find buyers because there are quite a few people that are into bugs, especially up here around this crazy college town I live in. They said no one wanted to buy them, but I know it is mainly due to everyone in my part of Oklahoma doesn't know cars or what they are worth.

Sad deal, but seeing his financial situation I wish I could have helped him out because I know those smashers probably only gave him 25-35 bucks a car.
I also hate to see classic or collector type cars smashed. like they say "don't crush em' restore them"

I'd love to pick up one for a driver to work. Had a 73. Of course, then it got sway bars, a big 'ol Rochester, exhaust, short shift'r, etc. Heater still sucked.

Unhappy Thats to bad

Same here Rick!!!I would have purchased a hand full of them, 1 for my self just to bomb around in and I know I could have unloaded the rest of them to students at Suny Geneseo College. The students are always looking for cheap transportation, wish I would have known!! Andrew, I hope the young man makes out O.K.
