Default Body Panels

Who makes the best reproduction body parts for 69 camaro. Looking for trunk lid/quarters/fenders. I know NOS is the best, but in absence of that, what is recomended.

Thanks

AMD is highly recommended www.autometaldirect.com/, but it wasn't used on my 67 Camaro. I have all NOS. The other companies well, basically buy from the same source in Taiwan. NOS will cost you more money, but I seen a few aftermarket sheet metal installs and it would be cheaper to use NOS. Just by the hourly rate that shop charges.

Trunk lids are ALL junk from what I've seen. I have not used the AMD stuff myself, but know of a few guys that have and the parts did not really fit much better, thicker metal yes, but the fit is still aftermarket sheet metal.

I have two new qtrs here right now, they were bought about a year apart. Same company Legon, driver side fits like crap around the trunk, passager side the newer of the the two fits much better around the trunk. Now don't get me wrong both will slicing and dicing around the trunk and at the doors to make them perfect. If you are building a driver or filler then much less work would need to done.

Also my trunk lid is an orginal GM lid no rust but some dents. I put an aftermarket lid on a 69 Camaro I did a few years back and after it was all finished and painted I had to change it for an orginal because it was so bad. When you went to close it with the spoiler on it, it would twist from side to side.

I have to tell ya its all SH^T!!! When I started to install my quarter panels my first set was Golden Liegion? Those at the time weren't close. I purchase three sets goodmark, AMD,and YEAR ONE witch turned out to be the same manufacturer as GOODMARKS! So to make a long story short every set I purchased was worse than the other. So whats on my car now the ones I started with! Everyone told me they were the worst fitting out of them all and they fit my car the best go figure..... Just buy this stuff and figure no matter what your going to have to make them fit..

Mario, I got a deck lid from Heartbeat City and it was not only built well but also didn't take much to fit up. It's always a coin toss ya know.

Mario, Golden Legion,Goodmark and AMD do not share same tooling.AMD does sell and stock Golden Legion, but they are not labeled as AMD or even have same part number, Golden Legion part # starts with an "X" . AMD part # starts with a numeric digit. Price also reflects between the two. This is why I always confirm with AMD sales rep if the part is AMD or Golden Legion when preparing a quote for a customer.

I do agree with you that all parts will require some adjustment regardless if it's NOS OEM or AMD. BTW, there is a huge difference just in weight between AMD and Goodmark part.

Use the AMD. I am replacing quarters and tail light panel on my 69 right now. The amd is the correct gauge. I had another brand full quarter it weighed 18 pounds the amd full quarter weighs 28 pounds. Both of my amd quarters are fitting great.
