Default another tire question

Does anybody make a 295 or 305 in a 17 '' diameter street tire. Can only find competition only tires. I have spent hours looking and am pretty sure they don't make 295/35/17 in a good street tire. So my next question is WTF!? They make 235,245,255,265,275,285's. What, some genius just decided to skip the 295 and go straight to the 315?

they don't make hardly anything in 305, except truck tires and some 15" drag radials, and as far as 295 goes, they usually only make them in 18's... because thats what most OEM vehicles who have staggered sizes run, BMW, Mercedes, etc. Just run a 285/40/17 (very common) or go with an 18...

Ya, I know, going to an 18'' would solve all my problems, but, I have spent hours massaging my wheel wells on my 69 camaro. I have 13''-13 1/2'' clearance now and a 295/35/17 on a 10 1/2 or 11'' wheel would look killer. Don't want to minitub, so I want the widest tire I can fit and a 295 on a 17'' dia. and 11'' wide wheel would darn near look like a 315 on a 18'' 11 wide (I think). And yes, I now have to have my body man fix the cracked paint on wheel well lips.
