Default Fat lip or regular lip...??

In the same given size say 18x8" are the fat lips any wider than the regular lip style wheel?? I dont see why they would be but I heard that Fatlips are actully 1" wider than the spec.

A 18" Fat Lip outer will let the design be 1" larger than an 18 traditional. The design looks 1000X (design grows 1") better and deeper (no step up/optical illusion) than traditional. if the option is there, take it!

To answer your question about wheel widths. All wheels measure 1" wider, the bead seat is .5" on both sides of the wheel = 1" total. an 18x8 will measure 9" over all, Fat Lip or Traditional.

I think it should be said clearly, that a 18" FatLip wheel is 1" larger in DIAMETER, because of the steps being eliminated in comparison to the std, or Traditional rim outer. The only reason it looks deeper, is because the smooth lip of the FatLip gives you the appearance of a deeper offset wheel.

That is going to depend on what type of car, front or rear wheels, I assume rear, so is the rearend stock, what kind of brakes, rolled lip? They are going to need more info.

Well, on a 69 Camaro, with a stock width rear end, an 18X10" gets to be a little wide, but it can be stuffed in there. 5.5" backspace is your better fitment, and you'll probably have to roll your outer fenders. If you are running a 275 wide tire, with stock wheel tubs though, I'd rather see a 18X9 in there, like Steve Rupp's old 69. Well, personally, I'd rather see an 18X12 and some DSE mini-tubs, but that's me.
