Default Friend's First Track Day

My friend finally got his car car out to his very first track day at High Plains Raceway in Colorado yesterday. It's an absolutely amazing replica of the #6 Mark Donohue Trans Am Champion Javelin and he had a blast so after sending me some photos and a couple of short videos, I put together this video for him to Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down a Dream" I figured the two went together.

He was surprised to say the least at the reaction of fellow drivers when he fired it up and backed it out of the trailer. He said people were all over the car wondering if it was the real car that sold recently for $847,000. Many asked to have their pictures taken sitting in the car.

He got three sessions in with no problems and he was needless to say, HAPPY. Now he knows what improvements to make over the winter.

Found this visual kind of interesting. Sort OLD versus NEW.

I guess the Mustang guy showed a lot of interest and asked a lot of questions about the car.

Here's a few pictures of the car when it was being built.
