Default 69 Vette - Killer II Project Thread

I purchased 69myway's Killer II project back in March '10. Throughout the summer, progress was slow but now the project has started gaining more momentum so I figured I would share.

The basics of the project are:
'69 Corvette Convertible
L88 Flares and Hood
L18 496 Big Block
FI, AC, Cruise
Richmond 6sp
VB&P Suspension

Some background on what was completed by 69myway: McSpeed.com

The L18 is a big block with LSx DNA so I decided I would make the L18 look similar to an LSx by smoothing the aluminum intake and wrinkle coating black. Once I get my new garage going, I will fabricate some FRC's to fit the massive valve covers.

The body work has begun! Tim Bragg of D&D Classic Restoration
is my body man. He has been making quite a bit of progress since November. The car has been painted at least 4 times taht we can tell. 3 times red and once silver. This time around, it will be black

I've have been wondering the same thing. I would like to do something different than the original car but I can't seem to find the right set. Any suggestions? Sizes should be in the neighborhood of 295/18 front and 335/18 rear but there are not many brands to choose from.

Oh MAN! That all over primer looks sweeeeet!

I'm jealous. I really hope I get to go for a spin in the Modern Rat once it has a windshield and all in....

I miss that project...but I do have a finished basement to show for having giving it up! LOL

At least the whole family can pile in the basement and hang out while it is -5 degrees outside.

We'll get that a/c system together once the slick stuff is on and together!

Keep the updates coming - I'm subscribed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man this is just pushing me more towards wanting to do a C3 project. I never got into body work when I was repairing/modifying these cars but I've wanted to. I love the chrome bumper cars but think a late c3 can look amazing when done right. There are so many late c3s that need body work done for a cheap price. This just might push me over the edge, lol.

Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming.

Congrats, Brad. Glad to see it making progress. I look forward
to see it pounding the streets this summer....maybe.
Nice talking with you earlier...

Glad you started a build thread here--very cool site.

Looks "killer" just seeing it all one color even if it is primer...

John
