Default Tony Stewart retirement???

There is an article on Empire news.net that Tony is seriously thinking about selling his motorsports teams and not driving anymore. I hope that isn't the case. The media hype is really BS.

That's a satire site like the Onion. Total hoax.

FWIW - It was actually on a major cable networks news broadcast this morning with a reference to Waltrip and one other driver, maybe Kyle petty, being a source.

LOL, don't sweat it...... Both Iran and China fell for Onion articles before. China fell for one that lauded Kim Jong Un as "The sexiest man on Earth". Now THAT'S embarrassing.

As for having a head in the sand....that's me! The news just makes me angry so if I want to sleep well I just skip it. I figure that if something really important happens, I'll hear of it elsewhere. Usually the strategy works. :-)

No official statement yet from SHR, but he's been spending a lot of time with other drivers, who apparently are attempting to talk him into remaining in the sport.
Honestly, it would not surprise me AT ALL if he sells out, and walks away.

Here's my view --- and only he will know for sure which road he goes...

If he's somewhat "guilty" of trying to buzz the guy -- and he knows whether he did or not - he'll retire... because you wouldn't be able to move past that knowing you were reckless and a guy got killed... whether it was in the heat of battle or not. Let your conscious be your guide.

If it was a pure accident - then mentally he'll be able to move past it and stay with what he loves.

Pure conjecture on my part... and we might never know how it really all went down.

My comments were really directed at the original Tony Stewart thread. I just want Lateral G to remain a positive place. I think we all do...

Greg, I was thinking the same thing.

I knew it was fake when i read this ...

"He can barely bring himself to drive his Ford Taurus to the supermarket and back without cringing".
