Default Been around for a while, finally got my car!

Hi everyone, I've been a member of this forum for a while but I just recently picked up a pretty well put together 1967 Camaro which I plan on slowly but surely converting into a pro-touring beast and I'm sure that, in that process, I'm going to run into some issues and/or questions that will require the knowledge of some folks that are much more educated than me in this field. Plus, hey, it's just fun to shoot the sh*t with other enthusiasts... My first car was a '68 Camaro with a 327 and powerglide and, ever since it went away about 13 years ago, I've dreamed of owning another. Well, that time has finally arrived! Furthermore, I used to work for Fikse Wheels and, if you had any contact with that company from 2007-2012, you likely spoke with me - I was the go-to pro-touring guy there for some time, which also had a hand in driving my desire to do this project, and I used to spend a lot of time on this forum talking and working with a number of you. That said, I look forward to sharing my endeavor and reading about all of yours'!

About the car, it's an original V8, 4-speed '67 (definitely not numbers matching) with a moderately built 383 stroker, M21 4-speed and 12-bolt rear with 4.11 gears. Paint and interior are all new within the past two years and in great shape. I just put a set of Boss 338s on it in an 18 X 8.0" front, 18 X 9.5" rear with 235/40R18 and 275/35R18 Nitto NT05 tires. Their no Fikses or Forgelines but they look good enough for now and I'm saving that kind of upgrade for post mini-tub... Which won't happen for a while. That's really about it, from a high level view.

Looking forward to getting to know you all, and reconnecting with those of you with whom I used to work!

Here are a couple of photos of my new toy:

Welcome Danny, nice looking ride!

When's the T56 going in?

Seriously - In my case it was the most enjoyable and appreciated modification I've done to my car over the 24+ years of ownership.

Default Hello and howdy

Good project car. Is that Bumble Bee from the next Transformer's movie? Joking aside it does look like the right car for your plan. You need to start your build thread soon so at least we can see the map you've laid out for yourself.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I'll be installing a full set of Autometer gauges in a custom pod in about a week and I'll be sure to post up photos as the beginning of my build thread. I'll be putting in a 3rd Gen IROC steering box at the same time but don't think photos will be necessary for that upgrade - Definitely looking forward to the improved driving experience though!

Sieg, the T-56 is sadly at least a year away... Can't wait for that time to come!

Curves, hope to get the chance to meet up one day!
