Default Chaos - 1970 Chevelle at GAP Racing

Chaos is a 1970 Chevelle that was spread out between multiple shops before we got the call to get the project and take over. We had the original frame and started boxing it and modifying it for another shop that sent it to us. The motor was at another place and the body.......... well it was at a body shop that told the customer it was ready for paint. After picking the shell up, I decided to have it blasted because what we could see did not look very good. Now that we have the car, here is the run down :

1970 Chevelle :
Street Rod Garage Custom Chassis with Independent Rear Suspension and Air Ride
454 cubic inch LSX built by Late Model Engines
Nelson Mirror image 72mm turbos
4L80 built by Century Transmission
Forgeline VX3C Concave wheels. 19x8.5 20x15
Baer 14" Brakes
Custom Paint by Painthouse
Custom Interior by Recovery Room
Plus much, much more.....

Here is the shell we picked up from the so called "body shop"

This was a sure sign that the car had not been blasted like the previous shop told the customer

Looks like they just mudded over the old rocker holes instead of welding them up

Back from the blaster with a lot of surprises

The door gap as nice when we shipped it out. The blaster said he took out over an inch of filler used to make the gap so nice.

rags stuffed in the door and bondo over it. Nice touch

Some quality metal repair

They said the floors were perfect !!!!

Wow! GAP, PaintHouse and Recovery Room is an all star team. I am sure this one will turn out very nicely.

Stuff like this pisses me off. Now why would a "body shop" doing shoddy work like that? Totally inexcusable.
At least that car is in good hands now. Keep us posted.

It happens. Just surprised by how much they charged. They even put the quarter panel on wrong and it will have to be cut off and fixed

Me too. This is going to be a cool one. Randy already has a name for the color. We have been playing with colors for a while on this one
