Default 5th gen Camaro auto shifter

Hi, does anyone know if a 5th gen Camaro shifter will work with a 4l85 . The transmission is controlled by a GM stand alone controller. I want to use a paddle shifter. Hopefully a Twist Machine. I'm going to use a 5th gen console and I want to use the shifter also. Any halo would be great!
Thanks

Hi Wayne. That shifter is quite unique and I would be surprised if it could be made to work. The arm seems very long and getting the corresponding arm on the trans to match the detents on the shifter might be tricky. Not saying it can't be done though. I recently used a Shiftworks shifter in a 4L60E install and it worked very well. You could likely make it work in your console with a bit of fab. Shiftworks has a good selection of cable lengths and has several arm options for the 4L80E.

Another option might be a shifter out of a 4th gen F body. I used one in my Firebird. The cable length was tight but it worked well.

I havent worked with the 5th gen shifter but I am pretty sure it will work. I have used 4l60/80 shifters on the 6l90. Park thru Drive is all mechanical and the same as most automatics.
