Default C5 Drop spindles or drop springs on 69 Camaro

I have been fishing on sites for several weeks now and I'm total up in the air. I have a 69 Camaro i'm putting an Ls1 in. I have been doing a budget build on a and i'm at the point of picking spindles. I have decided I like the C5 setup, but I'm not sure I want to go with stock height spindles with 2" lowering springs or 2" drop spindles with stock height springs. Someone school me on the best direction to go. I would like to make this a well handling daily driver. I am planning on running 17's or 18's wheels. Thanks

Well for starters how were you planning on using a C5 spindle??? there is no control arm set up that I know of that will allow that spindle to be used. what are you going to do for steering? there is NO good reason to try to use a C5 spindle.

There ARE a NUMBER of different bolt on suspension packages available that WILL work. like this one

That will allow you to get an aggressive ride height even with the stock spindles. WE just took a car equipped with this EXACT suspension package to the Super Chevy Handling challenge. and I think everyone that drove it was impressed with both the performance and ride quality. There is no guess work no disappointment either.

Default which spindle

The question is weather to use a 2 inch drop corvette style spindle with a stock spring or a 2 inch drop spring with a stock height spindle. I really didn't want to get into a long drawn out discussion on what parts will work with what parts, theres enough debate on those topics. I'm looking for what will give the best ride while lowering the car 2 inches, for street driving. I understand their is SEVERAL directions i can travel with an endless list of cool parts.

I think you're missing the point. The way you are currently asking your question sounds like you wish to only use the C5 spindle, adapting it to your stock suspension. If so, your question sound a bit like, "What is the best airplane propeller to make my sailboat go faster?" The two are simply incompatible.

So, what suspension are you running? Stock Camaro? Or are you dropping the entire C5 front suspension in?

If you're looking for a "C5 style" spindle, SpeedTech AFX is going to be one of the best. The tall version provides a 1 inch drop. A cheaper option is the CPP C5 style spindle CP30013. It maintains stock ride height. It is arguably more of a low budget piece made from cast steel.

That's a good one analogy. I'm adding that to my arsenal.

WOW!

the answer is blue....thats just as relevant as saying dropped...it will be a discussion ...because in order to give you an answer (a real answer) caster, camber, control arm pivot points, anti dive, roll center, steering units(drag link or rack), ride height, scrub radius, instant center, akerman requirement, steering radius, bumpsteer all go into deciding what to run....or you just use a complete design that someone else has done all the hard work for you ......and why a C5? because its pretty? or does it fit all those

if you ask for help and someone wants to impart knowledge to you....absorb it and learn, dont just say it dont matter

if you want the best for street driving SLAP some springs on it and move on because you dont really care how it rides or you would have listened to those trying to help
