Default DSE Mini-Tub vertical panel angle fitment?

As the title states, Im currently installing the DSE Mini-Tubs, upper shock cross member and triangle cut outs for exhaust clearance. So, my question is in regards to the Mini-Tub vertical surface that you can visual see from inside of the trunk. I did the measurements and traced out my cut lines per the instructions but my tubs appear to lean "in" as if i did not trim enough. I will try to post some pictures later if Im not explaining this well enough.

Measuring my completed drivers side I have 15 1/4" from inner wheel tub to outside lip of quarter panel. On the passenger side I will have just shy of 15" but the passenger quarter panel has been replaced and will be addressed at a later time. Since this is my first install I am unsure of how important this 1/4" should be.

So, after reviewing as many online install pics as possible, DSE website and other information on this site I cannot get a definite answer of if these tubs have a slight lean to them and what is the appropriate measurement from inner tub to outer quarter panel.

If there is anyone currently at that stage that can provide some information I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

Default Hi

Hi. I finished my dse tub instal on my 68 6 months ago, but measurement from inside of the tub to the inside of the quarter panel came out even side to side. You're attaching to the inner structure that runs from behind the door and up into the sail panel, which is attached to the parcel tray, which you would assume is undamaged, the outer wheelhouse is attached to the same area and there is a reinforcement that comes down the sailpanel onto the top of it, if any of that had been damaged I'd assume there would be a visual sign somewhere. I think from memory the original inner wheelhouse leant inwards at the top. If on the lower ends where the tub sweeps around around and runs outward to meet the outer, if everything meets up properly and looks even I'd assume the variation was in the quarter itself. Any sign of damage on the outer wheelhouse in the lip area? Sorry if I cause you any confusion, the braces that run down from the parcel tray are roughly placed and not uniform, so don't trust them to try to double check anything from. Cheers Trevor

Default Hi.

Hi. I just went down and checked mine and on the trunk side of the divider panel my tubs are angled inward at just under 6 degrees on both sides. At the end of the day if you've taken care marking out and everything fits nicely, looks right and everything looks nice and even side to side, it's probably right and could be very difficult to change anyway. Just my opinion. Best of luck. Trevor
