New Wiring Harness and Relay mouting Suggestions
I have 6 OEM Harnesses for 2nd gen TA's but after looking at how clean the rest of the build is, I hate to take a chance on an old harness. I'll be running all the modern luxury's of Pro-Touring including AC, dual radiator fans, electric water pump, electric fuel pump, electronic ignition, modern lights, power windows, power locks, stereo, electronic gauges, USB charging stations, etc. About the only thing I'm not running YET is fuel injection, but I'd still like to have room in the box to run it when needed.
What aftermarket fuse box / harness do you suggest and why? Anyone run the new Ron Francis Blackbox relay setup? There are not enough relays in one of those for me but it looks cool. With three relay locations in my design, it would be more expensive than I am willing to spend, since relays are cheap and plentiful.
I don't mind wiring all the relays up but I'd like to have only three relay locations, one near the radiator support, one on the interior front firewall and the second on the back firewall. What I don't have is an attractive way to mount them and group them. Any aftermarket products out there or do most of you just bend a sheet of metal as a backing plate? for the under the hood mounting, I need a weatherproof box. Any recommendations?
I plan to mount the battery in the trunk and have two bulkhead pass though connectors for the rear firewall and the front firewall. I'd like to locate the relays close to the bulkhead connectors
So far, I have identified the need for the following relays but am open to suggestions.
