Default Chevelle Production quantities

I have a chance to buy a Chevelle and I just cannot seem to find out how many were made. If anybody has a breakdown of '71 Chevelles and could help, I would be greatful. Here is the low down:

1971 Chevelle SS Convertible
454 365 horse 4 speed
Air Conditioning
Disc brakes

How rare is this car? Any opinions on what a #3 car is worht these days?

pics and asking price would help determine if your getting a good deal. That is a desirable car in my book. Could be worth $20,000-??????. Is it all orig matching numbers?

I unfortuantely do not have any post-able pics. The car was restored in the late 90's, but is not still equipped with the matching numbers engine. Everything else seems to match (Dist, carb, intake, trans, axle, etc.). The resotration is nice, but is not perfect. Car has nice paint, straight panels, good floors, etc but still retains a certain amount of nostalgic patina. It does code out as a legit 454-SS convert though.

Looks like it will take low 40's to own it.

5089 Malibu Convertibles were built in 1971. They don't break it down any further than that as far as how many were SS's. SS was an option, not a separate body style.

Here's a link to the best online resource for information and statistics relating to 1964-1972 El Caminos & Chevelles:

http://www.chevellestuff.com/index.htm

I would also suggest checking out www.chevelles.com.
