Default Another Suggestion

Try a different cover plate: GM Part Number 12551587. It places the port at an angle and not straight out the one you are using. If you can't find a picture on-line I will try and take some pictures tonight.

I used one on my car Wayne, It was a little snug but not touching by any means. It seems that they offered one that was a low profile. If you don't have that you may want to look into it. Hope my free advice helps... lol

make sure you use the gasket with two seperate holes in it, not the ones that are pictured above that are open between the ports.

I'm hoping to prep it and paint some clear on it to help make it easier to keep clean. Then I'll put the Auto Kraft oil pan, motor adapter plates and motor mounts on it and see how its looking. I'll probably try the headers on it to see if there is enough room to run an Improved Racing oil thermostat off the oil fil
Hey Wayne, nice engine.

Are you going to clear coat the engine? If so, what are you going to use and how will you prep?

I have a new LS and was considering clearing it but haven't been able to find out much about it.

Thanks, Jeff

I'm looking at Eastwood High temp 2K ceramic clear coating. I painted an iron engine with the 2K Chevy orange and it looks great so I'll give the clear a shot. The LS engine is so rough I'm hoping the clear will help keep it easier to clean.
