****, I have no secrets. There has never been a reason to change the cam. Pettis nailed it.

I did pull the top end apart, pull the intake, and inspect all the lifters tonight. I was about to lose the lifter on number 6 exhaust. The roller is sloppy but all the needles are in tact. Magically, it was one of the two lowest spring pressures. I dodged a bullet.

Todd that's awesome that you caught it.Is there routine maintenance schedule that you follow on checking major parts or just something you do after giving her a hard beating( the car that is). Shane

TODD, good thing you caught that lifter, they eat up the insides if they let go, been there done that.. Also I believe that not just the roller bearing takes a beating on a R lifter but the whole body itself. I never trusted rebuilt lifters, but that's just me and my eng builders opinion.

That's a tough question. I really think you have to find your own maintenence schedule based on your own abuse and use. Jason and I had discussed me doing all these things this Fall and he thought it was fine. I really don't think he realizes the extent I'm using the car. I got lucky, it was to long on a solid roller in a big block chevy. That being said, some guys could go a decade until they get to this point.

I can tell you this, if I keep up the schedule I've been runing for the last 3 years, it will get valve springs every year. I'm sure there on some LS guys chuckling right now. I've seen a fair share of them scattering all over the pavement over the last couple years. Anytime you get away from stock specs, you lose stock reliability. This is a lesson for everybody that is abusing their equipment.

Also ask Jason if he believes that.. very low RPM or idling kills SOLID roller lifters faster, They tend to bounce and that does more damage then high RPMS. And for what it's worth I ran Crower SS rockers and stud gurdles seeing RPM's as high as 8500 over and over and never had an issue and my valve adj stayed very true also

Solid rollers were meant for racing where you tear things down and check them periodically. You did the right thing.

My builder said 10k mi max then throw them away and buy a NEW set.
