I've done a ton of idling and I'd heard the same thing. I always kept the idle above 1000 rpm as I'd heard it helped. After all, this is a street car.

I think I'll just buy a new set and sell off the old ones at a steep discount and let somebody else rebuild them. I like to error on the safe side of the fence.

Gaetano, I'll take the bait. How about 268/272?

Good call!! Spending $400-800 on a new set of lifters now is better then spending $2000-3500 on a complete tear down and rebuild Not to mention "down time"

A set of Isky EZ Rolls goes for $1000-$1200.

Sorry, I ran Crower and we are a dealer for them so i went off that pricing.

OH and don't lie if your car was a "street car" you'd be running Hyd roller lifters

Why not Crower? I know several solid roller street cars running them.

Price is better maybe 900-1000

I like the new Isky EZ Roll design as it eliminates the needle bearings. I had lashed the valves before RTTC and the roller went that fast. If you don't catch it, needle bearings will destroy an engine. They have three stages based on spring pressure. I'll likely opt for one step above what they spec regardless.
