I have a little time before my race tonight so I thought I'd update my thread. After my last post race inspection I found a RR axle seal leak and had severe brake pad knock back on the track. I replaced both axle seals and while bleeding the rear brakes notices bubbles coming out between the RR caliiper halves. Frank at Prodigy and Wilwood were kind enough to warranty that caliper. To fix the pad knock back issue I had to press of and on the bearing for a plate with a larger lip. (Wilwood is designing a new plate now) I also tore up two of my upper link bushings and switched over to a kevlar/teflon end link which should get rid of the bind. That required re centering the rear end and setting the pinion angle. I aslo had some plates water jetted to move the coil over mount in 2 inches to clear my 18's and 19's. While I had the calipers off I figured it was time to put a short brake hose in the system so I can pull the calipers without bleeding the brakes.

So my Forgelines show up. Gorgeous....bolt them on and the front hit the caliper. Tried jet nuts, and a spacer and just wasn't happy with the clearance. So I made the decision to change to 13" rotors and now I have a ton of clearance for both wheels. Of course that meant swapping out the caliper studs and safety wiring the new rotors. I also had to recenter 3 calipers since I changed front rotors and a new rear caliper. The mounting pad is thicker on the forgelines so I had to put in longer studs. That required removing the hubs and I went to a 2.5 inch stud which meant I have to run open ended lug nuts. So I now have a 1/8 spacer for the forgelines out back and the fronts just bolt on. I can run eithe rset of wheels with plenty of clearance.

This all took about 6 weeks and a ton of work!

Here is a pictures of the new coil over mount. It has alot more clearance between teh bracket and wheel. (Picture makes them look close)

Here you can see the longer studs and smaller rotor. 14" rotors and an 18" step wheel don't mix real well. I needed to change rotors or go with a thicker pad on the wheel which meant less wheel lip. I never wanted 14" rotors in the first place and wanted to keep the lip.

Finally got her on the ground at 11:30 last night. We had friends over and I spent the whole night in the garage.

It was a great night. The course was very technical and tight. The track surface was bumpy and loose. What a difference the race wheels made. The push was out of the car. Also happy to say the brakes were 100% better. The fastest sweeper the car stuck like glue. I ended up nosing out a new Viper and got beat by a Nissan Gtr by less than a second. The icing on the cake was there was a Mustang Super Snake at the event. He was slow but his buddy ask how much horse I had. I said 600. Well my buddy has 700. Cool....well I pull out on the interstate and guess who is in front of me. Up for the challenge we ran them up way into triple digits. Weak ass 700hp. I pulled him twice! Oh yeah...the old girl is a chick magnet. My old lady couldn't make it and I had 3 young ladies ask for a ride and I obliged.

Todd, those wheels look sick. I think your car has a very sinister look to it now, looks awesome!

Good stuff man, but no pics of the 3 young ladies getting a ride = fail.

Was it one of the Eleanor replica Super Snakes or the late model version?
