My 2nd gen project is at a standstill while funds build back up. However I was hoping to replace...or rather pay a professional shop to repair the driver's side jamb section.
For the body guys on here; how much of an undertaking is that project? I've found an OEM piece out in CA that is solid and listed for $225. Should I be concerned about the door seams never matching perfectly again?
The car as it sits doesn't really NEED this repair. It's obvious that the car was hit in this area in the past. Fender and door were replaced whereas the jamb section was pounded out. Since I have it gutted to a rolling chassis it would bother me if I didn't have the section replaced.
For reference, here is the link to the part:

Scroll down until you see the red 1976 Trans Am jamb section: "1976 Firebird, Trans Am LH Outer Cowl & Jamb Section $225"
I'm not a body guy so this is definitely something I'd have to outsource.
Thank you,
- Andrew
