Default Tapping heater ports on water pump

Hi I have my FEAD on my motor already and I am thinking of tapping the Heater ports on the water pump for AN fittings. If I use grease on the tap to catch the chips will I be OK doing it on the motor? I need opinions please.
If I don't do it on the motor i will have to figure a different way to connect the hoses.

Thanks

Pull the thermostat off and put a shop vac in the hole where it was.

You don't have to drill, only tap, the holes are already the right size.

That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Thanks!
