Default How many Optima OUSCI cars did not compete?

Are cars getting invited to Optima's USCI and then not participating in the actual competition? I was at SEMA and OUSCI this year as a spectator and it seemed like a lot of cars that had the Optima invite were not driving at the event. Also the results on Optima's website show a lot of 0's for the driving portion of the event. Granted, I didn't get to the track until @10am, but I got the feeling some people get an invite to this awesome event and then aren't participating.

As far as I know there were only two folks with invites who did not make it from SEMA to Spring Mountain and both of them sure did try to get there. I don't think that anyone who had the chance to compete did not give 100% to take part.

I was impressed with the effort all the drivers put in and how their cars were performing. This segment of the automobile arena is impressive. To compare a stock version to what was out their is light years different. Cool stuff.

Was one of those cars a Supra by chance? I was watching a guy at SEMA install his Optima door stickers on his clean, red Toyota Supra that had a huge turbo on it. I was confused because his car had R compounds but then I never saw it at the invitational anyway?? I also don't recall seeing the new twin turbo Viper run, or the Rad Rides built Torino Talladega.

I saw the Torino run, and the Supra break on the Autocross. Both fairly early in the day.

OK, I caught the last half of the autoX and most of the speed stop. I guess some stuff broke already by the time I got there. I remember seeing that "Tapout" Nova wagon being pulled behind a rollback at some point. ..Did you see the Torino autox?

Viper had an electronics issue. McGaffin's 442 broke the rear end on the outskirts of Vegas.

I am wondering if you are talking about their new deal this year of putting out 20 of the Optima Finalist (or something like that) cards on windshields during the week and they narrowed that down to a Final of 10.

There was a killer older light green Porsche with one that did not make the final. I was hoping it would.

they have been really lucky with that supra cause i took a piece off his bellhousing back home. he didnīt roll off instant and if he spilled fluids it would have been a huge mess so we just walked from where he broke to the point where he got off and cleaned a couple of cast-pieces from the track
