Default Blue72Nova Build v. Phase #1

So before my 30th birthday a couple weeks ago, I decided to purchase a new project. I recently sold my C6 z06 and wanted to get into building something else.

A friend of mine with not enough time had his 72 Nova for sale, so I was able to procure the project through him.

Here is what the car started life as:

383 + Nitrous + TH350. Did 10.50's on motor. Overall, a fun pump gas street car.

Luckily the car has two hoods, so it will be retaining the flat hood:

The car has been stripped of the engine and sold. Same as the transmission and Weld Draglites.

The Nova is currently on a rotisserie and the bottom was blasted to check/inspect for any rust:

Overall, the bottom has no issues (old pic below) and I will be doing some further cleaning and then repainting/coating the bottom of the car:

The rear tubs were cut out and the 12 bolt has been removed. In place are some DSE Minitubs:

And now, doing some test fitments of some wheels to figure out how much to narrow the rear end and get the axles/running gear ordered.

I still have some fixed back Recaros to sell in order to get some new seats:

And I am currently awaiting on my new system from Speedtech to arrive to install in the rear end.

In terms of wheels, I am looking again at ordering another set of Forgelines through Deviate Motoring.

Need some GA3C's in my life:

Drive train is more than likely going to be a simple LS based system with a six speed.

Goal is to have this thing going and ready by Power Tour 2016

I will continue to update this thread as more parts begin to arrive. And if I get bored, I still have my GF's car to work on... her 1968 Firebird

Correct. As Will stated, I am taking over the project from Tim. Just so busy working on all of those kick ass rides in his shop currently.

For those asking about the seats. I will get some more details on them and respond accordingly.

Should be picking up some new gauges shortly due to a friend moving to another style on his project!

Awesome! Had been curious about the status of this car, good to hear it is in good hands and will be completed
