Default 350 four bolt main vs. 400

Im a newbe here....
I got a project car..68' Firebird..im only 19. I don't know that much about engines. A cousin gave me a Chevy 350 four bolt main engine in which i was planning of putting in my car, but theres this guy that is sellin me a chevy 400 engine. Which engine would give me great performance on street and drag way and cruise around?? which engine would be worth fixing??

350 parts are cheap and plentiful

But which engine has better pontential of performance...Comments will be helpful..im undecided about both engines..??!!

To be honest I dont think you can say one has more potential for making power over the other. Although I would say the 350 has better potential for making the same power as the 400 for less money. They are both great platforms for a lot of power if you build them right.

the 400 has the most potential to make better power
(more cubes = more power)
there is a reason why 400 blocks are hard to find now adays.
only real difference is the 400 is externally balanced and the rods are different.
all other parts interchange between the 350 and 400 blocks except the 400 starter is staggered.
all in all the 400 makes stump pulling torque and horsepower over the 350.
hmm thats why im building a 406 as we speak
