Default Camaro X and a/c questions

I know I've seen the write up on How the A/C compressor problem was solved on Camaro X on this website. I searched and searched and couldn't find it. Can somebody please post a link.

I have a 69 Camaro and I'm putting a F body LS1 in it using ATS mounts. Needless to say there isn't any room for the A/C compressor......... I have a Sanden compresser from the Vintage Air Gen IV sytem I'm trying to make fit in the factory F body location. I don't want to run it up on the top. At sometime I want to turbocharge the car and it'll be in the way on the top. It has to go on the bottom. Notching the frame for me isn't a big deal to me.

What are my options.........

Lance

ATS has a solution for it.

The last time I talked to Tyler he did not have a solution.

I think the best bet is to make your own mount and use a ATI balancer with a pulley bolted to the front. This would be almost like the white camaro Steilow built.

Vintage air is working on a set up to allow a SD-7 compressor versus the 508 model . It wont be out for quite awhile.

I think Jan is referring to the ATS Sidewinder accessory drive but this places the Sanden compressor up top on the passenger's side. It does tuck all the accessories in very tight though.

Default If you are using a stock subframe

Street & Performance has a low bracket for the a/c that will work but you will need to use some of the other brackets as well. You will also have to notch a small portion out of the subframe. The S&P bracket runs the compressor off of the front pulley, so you only have one belt. I had it on a stock subframe, but have since gone to a 21st century.
