Default Help with 84 Mustang

Good Afternoon, I am looking for info/help on an 84 mustang we are doing in memory of my son who passed away in february of this year. He always wanted to put an 351W turbo charged in his car. ... So far, I am thinking about tubular cross member, tubular a arms and coil over springs up front. The 351W block is at the machine shop. putting a 9 inch ford rear end it the car. Not really sure what to put into the 351 internals and what brand of turbo-kit to buy. Also, not sure about the rear suspension yet. Anyone with ideas or has done something like this before, your assistance will be greatly appreciated. My son Ian eventually wanted to run his mustang at Targa Newfoundland.

Terribly sorry to hear about your loss. What a great way to help keep the memory of your son alive! Sounds like he had some good plans for the build.

I don't have any input for you, but wanted to welcome you to the board and wish you good luck on the project. I am sure you will receive lots of helpful recommendations here.

Sorry to hear that about your son.

Do you want to make it a stroker motor? Either way just go ahead and put a forged rotating assembly and low compression forged pistons. The cam and heads are very important also so have a custom grind cam made specifically for your application and some good flowing heads like AFR's or something. For the front suspension you can just install a tubular K-member with tubular A-arms and some good struts. For the rear you could replace your upper and lower control arms with some adjustable ones and maybe coil-overs or trick springs.

retcpo96:

Click on the links off this site for people who build engines. They are extremely talented builders, many of whom specialize in Turbo Charged Engines.

They will be able to answer all your questions and if you were open to it, they could probably build the entire engine. All you would have to do is pick it up. (And write a check)

Check them out and let us know if they were helpful.

Here are a couple to get you started:

Good luck and I'm sorry for your loss.

Best Regards,

Sorry to hear about your son.

Check out http://www.turbomustangs.com/

That will be one of the best resources you can find as far as turbo combo's in a fox body mustang.

I know of a couple people in the forums that have or are running a siilar setup that you want to build.
