Default 24 hours of Lemons

Next weekend at Thunderhill. A friend has a 87 Firebird that I hope will last us to the end...or at least cook some good food on the intake.

Good luck! I've been reading about that in a bunch of publications and it looks like a laugh-riot. An 87 Firebird sounds like a good entry for $500 if it holds together.

I was thinking it's too bad the police auctions don't still have Caprices. An LT1 model goes like stink, makes a good battering ram and keeps running like a Timex.

After session 1 shut down at 9:00pm we are in 18th place out of about 70 entries. This is nuts....Turn two in the dark with our crappy lights I drove right out into the field....stayed on the throttle and drove right back onto the track leaving a little mud. Just couldn't see the track the second portion of the turn......Did I say this is nuts ?

We survived. Had to change a spindle when the wheel bearings went..a couple hours after putting out the fire when the bearing grease caught on fire. Also had the power steering pump fall off..Also have quite a few dents. What a great handling car it was for such a low budget ride.
