Default Can I get some advice on buying a trailer?

I have been looking into buying a nice used enclosed trailer for my 68 Firebird. What options/equipment should a guy look for in a trailer? I think a 22-24 ft long X 8.5 ft wide would be plenty big enough . Is there any features that you would always want in a trailer. I have read alot of for sale ads on ebay and racing junk but it hard to know what to look for and what options are really nice to have.

My first one was a 24 foot Pace. Just the basic one with wood walls. I thought I needed the door over the left fender, but in reality I rarley used it. My current one is a 24 foot Pace Shadow with the vinyl floor, aluminum wheels, diamond plate ramp, flourescent lights, and 6 inches extra height, etc. Do you need all that stuff? Probably not.

Depends what you want to do. I like the nicer look of this one, but it's function is the same.

Pace American has a good warranty and I feel that it is a little nicer quality than some of the others (Haulmark, etc.)

I would get the biggest your truck and budget can afford. A 24 foot trailer is the smallest I would go. You can put a tool box and other junk you carry in there and have some extra room.

I have a 3/4 ton Dodge diesel 4x4 with the HD trailer package so I can pull a good sized trailer. I was thinking 22 or 24 but I can see advantages of a larger one and some disadvantages. I guess some of it will depend on what I find for a good price. I was hoping to find a nice older one for 3500.00- 4000.00 but not sure if that will happen. I wonder if I wait untill fall if the market will soften up some.

a 20 ft trailer will have 3-4 ft extra room in front for tools, jacks, tires etc, but 20 is min, 24 is pretty good. you can find decent 5-8 yr old ones from 4-5k often just hop on them don't think about it because they go fast

We pull an American Hauler 24 footer with the single walk-through door. It's fine with convertibles, but a little tricky to get in and out of hardtops. Especially for me, 'cause I'm petite! Kelle handles most of driving on / off the trailer. Just be sure to get a good load-leveling torsion bar setup... it makes all the difference in the world when passing semis on the road. You want the ride to be smooth with your pride and joy in the box!
