Default Another What's it worth thread

I've got a local guy that may want to buy my car. Which is good because I may want to put it up for sale. I can't tell you how much I hate the idea of letting it go, but due to a job that is...well, fragile at the moment and may put me on the street it's a good idea. My problem is I have no idea what it's worth. I'd hate to let it go for to little, but don't want to ask for an out of this world sum either. So I turn to you for help my friends.

The car is as straight as can be and has ZERO rust. Other than that I suppose the only thing left is a picture and the goodies list.

Thank you very much for you help and support.

Thanks Aj. I'm sure there are a few other items I've forgotten about.

You ask the question we all wish we could answer, whats it worth well its worth what you think you have into with parts and labor. I have no clue but looking at it I would say you are probably into that car for around $40-50K now I cant see the paint, engine detail and undercarage so I may be way off.

I think this car looks to be very clean and built well. I can see it going all over the place, problem is there are too many cars for sale right now. I have a nice 69 that one of my customers bought at BJ for $35K and then dropped another $45-50K in it and it has been for sale for almost a year now.

So the question is what is it worth. The one we have is worth around $80-90K to build again but we cant even get a $50K offer for it so the market is real soft right now on these cars.

I would hold off untill you have to sell it unless this guy comes up with a number that is to sweet to pass up. You know what you have in it and what you have to get out of it to make you happy. If you are not forced to sell it yet hold out and get his number and hopefully things will trun around for you.

The election is almost over and things will turn around for the better The times always get tough when we go into an election year and hopefully you can hold it together so you can keep the car as it would be a shame to part with such a fun driving car.

Good luck

Thumbs up

I have no clue what she's worth, but she does look really good and the parts listed are great performance parts.
Sorry you have to sell her. That sucks. Good luck with whatever you decide.

It would help if you had pictures of the engine bay and the undercarriage.

In my opinion, the average Joe that buys a car like a 69 camaro, puts new suspension, engine and all the goodies will NEVER get the money back they have in to it. Especially not the cost of their personal labor.

The average Joe that makes money on a build like probably got the car handed down by family. A professional shop that buys a bucket has a hard time making money on the build.

I bought my car when the market was at it's peak, needless to say; I paid top dollar. if I ever sold it, I would loss my a$$.

I seen cars like your going for $60k just two years ago.

Agree that it's a nice car but times are tough right now. Probably 'worth' 50%-75% of what you have into it. But if you find the right buyer then all bets are off.
