Car shows..love em, hate em - Lateral-g Forums

I am mostly a lurker, but thought I would share because I am tired of the “no respect” some people have at car shows. Many of the people at car shows, none of the car owners, deserve to be beaten. I went to a local car show yesterday with eleven friends who had cars in the show. Of the eleven, here is what three of us had the joy to experience.

1) guys wife walks down to their car and some guy is half sitting on the car, half his arse on the rear of the car, one leg up, having a conversation with his buddy about the car.

2) another guy sitting at his car, guy walks up with his 120lb dog and takes a look inside the car to check out the interior, his dog decides he is going to have a look as well, jumps right up on the side of the car with both front paws on the door.

3) end of the day I am feely I can finally take a deep breath, have a walk around to check out some rides, and return to this………..nice chip at the rear. Painted for three years, always drive it, and this is the first “real one”

Your right people have no respect for other people’s property. It doesn’t matter if your setting right there it will still happen and it still pisses you off. If you’re like me I love to go to car shows but I will also set there for most of the day giving anyone that gets too close the old stink eye and for the most part it works. You really have to watch out for the people that don’t know how to control there kids! In fact I had one kid throw a pop can close to my car and he got pop all over my car. I did walk away with the Best Camaro Award so it wasn’t all bad I guess. Anyway you’ve got to love car shows but you have to take the good with the bad.

i would of puked.im very sorry for your loss so to speak/i drove my grand national to work one day and went to do a job.when i returned the car had been keyed.well it messed me up so much i took a loss and sold the car.there are alot of ignorant souls out there.hang in there i do like the shows cause it sparks the new generation into building customs ect.

Car shows pretty much suck....I like talking to the folks with cars but that's the end of it for me. I'd much rather be driving or racing.

I hate car shows!! but you gotta go. i like the BS time with buddies but the spectators are idiots!

I just went to my first "real" show last Friday. It was a small show but everyone was real nice, respectful and kept a little bit of breathing room between cars. I even over heard a few parents telling their kids not to touch or get too close.

I guess it just depends on the size of the show but I think most people at this one had some classic of their own and knew to respect someone elses car as well as they would their own.
