I've got one on my ProCharged SBC. I like it a lot. Because of size restrictions I'm unable to run an intercooler without radical surgery on my radiator support. This is the next best way to cool the intake charge. I'm running an adjustable Cooling Mist system. There are many other reputable suppliers, like Snow Performance, Aqua Tune, etc. Just do your homework. My system is boost referenced. I can program when it comes on and how much. It's pretty easy to install. I've got a trunk mounted system. I'm now running 12 pounds of boost with this. I've been able to monitor my air intake temps and they're down close to 80 degrees. The big caveat is don't run out of water!
Very cool.
I was doing some research on the Snow Performance website. I would have a trunk mount as well if I did run it, with an over sized "holding bin", or canister.
Thanks for the reply.
This is all VERY new to me, so I just want all the info I can get. These systems are ok for the engines as well too, right? They don't "break" down the engine or weaken it over time do they?
Thanks guys.
If you use methanol you can have some problems with rubber seals. I only use distilled water. These systems don't hurt the engine. Whe the water is injected it immediately vaporizes to steam, thus cooling the intake charge. It has an added benefit of keeping the engine clean.
