1. Check out the sellers feedback before you buy
2. Looks for the actual words "Dynamat Extreme" in the main page, not just the title. There are lots of people selling crap roofing tar with foil on it; things that looks like a vibration damper but perform much differently (in a bad way). Usualy they use the word " Dynamat" in the title to get you to click, but very often it is not dynamat.
3. if it comes on a roll, it is not dynamat Extreme. Any foil backed material that is ona roll started out as a roofing tape. There is exeption to this rule.
Sound deadening companies do not put sound deadeners on a roll.
(Though dynamat does crunk up their trunk kit and stuff it in a box, kind of rolled up like, but that is not on a roll.)
4. Look for a picture. If you see the Dynamat box, that is helpful.
5. Also look at the quantity. a bulk pack of Dynamat Extreme has 9 sheets in it, Each one is 18"x 32" = 4 sq feet.
I once saw an ebay ad for a dynamat Bulk pack that was cheaper thant he rest. In the fine print the guy said that he took out one sheet from each box, becuase there was no reason anyone would ever need that many sheets. So really, you were buying 32 sq feet, not 36
I know it is unusual for the owner of a sound deaening compnay to give advice on how to buy a competitors product, but I don't mind. Just make sure you CYA when you buy on eBay
