I moved to bozeman montana and theres not awhole lot of body shops to choose from but the one i did call quoted me for a floorpan and trunk pan install 40 hours or about 2000 dollars and for a quarter panel install 800 dollars this is with me supplying all the parts i could be wrong but from what i have always heard quarter panels are the most expensive and time consuming? does this stuff sound right?

are you talking one piece floor and trunk or patch panels. Quarter price is not out of line.

o ok i heard dropping a floor pan in was pretty easy glad i didnt attempt it myself

Doing the full one piece floor is not hard but does take alot of time. If you have basic skills and time than I say do it yourself. Lots of spot welds to cut so make sure you get a good drill and a good spot weld drill bit DO NOT use the Blair bits. If you do make sure they are strait when you drill or they will brake. The ones I use are from Dent Fix for standard drill set up. As for pricing not bad $50.00 an hour is not out of line. Some shops charge more some shops charge less, in the end it's the quality of the job that counts.

I thought the full floor was actually pretty easy. Overall, it took me about 16-20 hours including removing the existing one and prepping the rockers and painting them. The trunk pan took quite a bit longer for me because it was the first piece of metal I ever changed. One word of caution. DO NOT ORDER A 68 FULL TRUNK!!!!! Ask me how I know. It's stamped about 1/2" too short. If you're mini tubbing the car, just buy a 67 pan and you'll be fine. Even if you're not mini tubbing the car, still order the 67 pan and modify the driver side shock tower.

The quarter price sounds about right. There are a few areas on these repro quarter that need some attention. I can explain them to you and show you pictures if you need. You should still have my number. Call me if want. If not, PM me and I'll email you my number again.
