Metal Shaping.....anyone into it?

Just wondering how many of you do metal shaping/fabrication. Attended an event this last weekend with Ron Covell & Lazze and a group of members from MetalMeet.com. Had a great time working with two of the best metal crafters and a lot of other very skilled craftsmen.

yep, just had one of our guys at Fornier's a few weeks back. Kid was already good, but now is more confident in his talent

I am into metal shaping, it is a major part of my shop. I am self taught and constantly learning. There are a ton of great metal shapers out there. I would love to be able to afford to take one of fay butler's classes, he is the master of the power hammer. The last cool thing that I made were a pair of case backhoe fenders(inner/outer) out of 16g.. The backhoe was one of my customers not the work I typicaly do. Thanks, Jon.S.

I'm just starting out but I love it. Sort of therapeautic to just lock yourself in the garage and have at it with a sheet of 16g and some hammers.

@Vince-I use the same screen name CRCRFT78. I would love to take Lazze class but they're a bit pricy for me. His dvds & books alone are about $300-$400 per 3 disc/book set.

I love it, been beating alot of metal panels for 55 Porsche 356 cabrio last few months, sometimes it's frustrating because there so much metal that was rotten away, I have to go by pictures,if I don't have pics, the work stops till we dig up more pics of the area I'm working on, very time consuming, but rewarding ,knowing you made parts from flat piece of metal.I'd love to take some classes,but I can't seem to find any around my area, I can't just take off for 2 or 3 days and fly out of town.
