Default VA GenIV installation questions

I have a couple of questions on installation/routing in a 69 camaro.

1) Per instructions, you drill a hole 1" below drain pipe. How/where did you run the drain line after? Leave it stubbed at the firewall or run it down frame rail, etc?

2) Best place to locate heater control valve?

Any help is appreciated.

I ran my drain line down along the frame rail, and the heater control just off the firewall, sort of behind the fender. I ran the heater lines behind the fender & out the front over to the water pump (LS1). I am not much into having a show piece under the hood, just tried to make it neat & clean. Scott

My instructions said to drill a 5/8" hole for the drain. The 5/8" hole fit very snug around the drain hose and sealed nice. Double check that yours says 1". I drilled mine in the flat area at the base of the firewall. My hole comes out into the packet for the subframe mount the hose then just drains to the ground. If you pop the hole into the subframe mount packet you won't have to see it hanging down from the engine compartment.

I mounted the heater control valve in the cabin just off the bulkhead. Mounting it the cabin means one less wire to run through the firewall and one less thing to look at under the hood. If you want to mount it under the hood and assuming you are routing the hoses between the inner and outer fender I would hide the valve in that area.

I drilled mine in that little flat area at the base of the firewall using a 1/2" hole big enough that the black hose fits tight and seals then used a piece 1/2" stainless steel tubing (like on your fuel lines) clamped it to the frame then attached the black hose to the tubing.
