Default project 72 chevelle RACING STRIPES LOL

This project was brought to me in the last week of April 2011.On the phone the guy tells me he purchased a 72 chevelle at the Charlotte auto fair.He ask how much it would it cost to get to racing stripes painted on the hood, roof, and trunk of his car. I didn't give him a price because there are to many variable involved when pricing even the smallest of jobs. I told him i would have to see it in person any order to give him a price. He agreed to bring the car a week from the day we spoke. O i forgot he said the car was in decent shape it had just received a paint job from the guy he bought it from.So a week later he shows up with the car on a trailer telling me he had just pick it up from the seller. As soon as I looked at it I knew there was something going on underneath the the paint. I told him i wouldn't be able to go over what was there. The paint was bubbling up in a few spots and i noticed some wrinkling in other . I explained that the car needed to be stripped in order to start from a sound foundation. long story short we talk about other ideas he had for the car and i told him i could do almost all except interior. he left the car at my shop over the easter hoilday and said he would make a decision in a few days on what he wanted to do(he thought i was lying about the condition of the car).
Started stripping the car and found this

What is that....paint on top of paint? It looks like it just flaked off No grinding needed.

at this point a called the guy and emailed him some pics and he was pissed. He because he payed good money for the car. we decide to take the car off the frame which wasnt very long seeing how its only 3 bolts holding the car to the frame.. took the car off and i had a feeling that the wheel houses were bad so i cut the quarters away.

that was paint on top of a s**t of bondo a 1/4 inch thick. Back form being sandblasted.. and to work i go. inner rockers were shot right below of the cowl sides on both sides.front floor pan too on both sides. made the lower section of the inner cowl because it was on back order next is the right side which the cowl side was available so i used what i need then i tackle the floor pan the back seat floor pans on the left and right side were both ate which extended to the inner 1/4 brace so i removed the brace replaced the bad section and remade the lower part of the brace on bothsides

Well as you can see its gonna need inner and outter wheel house, trunkpan, and 2 full 1/4's. The trunk pan sucked bad the full trunk pan was of course on back order among other things. the roof was ate out around the edge of the back and across the front plus it was pretty roof so it had to go also. I hated it but i ended up using a 7 piece trunkpan and fixing the back part of the old pan but it worked

This was a rusty car.The corners of the package tray were rusted out so i removed the bad and made some patch panels after all was primed and seam sealed fitted the 1/4's for the last time which in all i had to have both sides on aand off atleast 30 time. I swear i got some of the worst fitting panels. After welding both1/4's in it was time for the rotisserie. I lapped section of the floor i replaced by crimping the old metal and laying the new peice in. all seams were fully welded on top flipped over and welded fully on the bottom. Both side of the orignal trunk that i use were rusted out so i made some more patch panels.
