I have a 68 camaro with 4 wheel drum brakes with a 10 bolt rear end. I've looked at several different companies a lot of them are similar. Ricks camaros has a 4 wheel disc brake kit that included everything for around $1,000. Iv read on here of several people going to corvette brakes but im pretty sure thats out of my price range. so my question is what are your opinions on ricks kit and are there any other kits you would recommend?
Like everything else it depends on what you want. You can go with factory stuff cheap. If you're going with big wheels and want big brakes, you're gonna have to pony up a bit. There's a guy on eBay that sells a front kit with drop spindles and vette rotors & calipers for $700ish
For a tight budget, have you considered just going with an OE style disc/drum setup? There's nothing inherently wrong with drums in the rear...in fact, they make an excellent parking brake, better than most integral caliper options by a long shot.
As for your existing drum spindles and hubs, those potentially have some value to someone looking to do a C5/C6 Corvette brake swap.
