1967 Chevelle w/ Schwartz Performance G-Machine Chassis & 1900hp Nelson Engine
This 1967 Chevelle came to Schwartz Performance as a complete running & driving car. Through a full tear-down and rebuild, we are transforming it into an outrageous street machine with a new G-Machine Chassis, 1900hp NRE engine, airride, etc. This will be, essentially, a brand new supercar when it leaves Schwartz Performance Inc.
The plan:
- G-Machine Chassis by Schwartz Performance
- 1900hp twin-turbo 509 by Nelson Racing Engines
- 18x9 & 18x12.5 2pc wheels by Rushforth Wheels
- 265/40 & 345/35 "ET Street" tires by Mickey Thompson
- Lightweight 14" 6-piston brakes by Baer Brakes
- Shockwave air-ride by RideTech
- Full Dynamat Extreme interior
- 6-point roll cage by Schwartz Performance
- Adjustable racing seats by Recaro
- New floors & quarter panels by Schwartz Performance
- Custom stainless-steel exhaust by Schwartz Performance
- Custom intercooler piping by Schwartz Performance
- Complete paint by Schwartz Performance
- Much more...
Build page on our website: http://www.schwartzperformance.com/1...lle-twin-turbo
After bodywork, cage install, chassis install & shaved firewall:

1967 Chevelle bodywork, rust repair, minitubbing, etc
Let me back up, and start from the beginning...
When we first received this 67 Chevelle from California, it appeared to be a decently clean car...

We removed the old floppy chassis and engine:

But looks can be deceiving... After sand-blasting, we found a lot of issues. It needed a lot of rust repair. New quarter panels were a must.

We did a simple shave on the firewall, like we do on all our cars.

Many new panels were fitted.

Fitting the body to the new G-Machine Chassis was just the start.

The firewall, underhood, etc. were painted first for logistics sake.

More new panels:

Minitubbing is very common at Schwartz Performance. Our G-Machine Chassis is designed to allow up to 345mm tires in the rear:

What's the purpose of those expansion chambers on the pressurized cold side with vent lines going into them, behind the outer most headlights?

The "pots" in the intercooler piping are the Air:Water intercoolers. There is a separate heat enchanger underneath the car that cools the water, then the cool water cools the intake air.
We run exhaust under the rear-end often, but it was absolutely necessary on this Chevelle because of the airride.
Out with the old, in with the Schwartz:
