Flaring Stainless Brake Lines in DFW

Five places contacted in Dallas metroplex and nobody can double flare two brake lines? Any suggestions for someplace that could do it?

Making a double flare on stainless brake tubing is nearly impossible. What I have seen done, as a suggestion is to do a single 37 degree flare on stainless lines. Stainless lines are super hard, and don't actually need to be folded over like mail steel lines.

I just had my two rear lines remade in this way and they sealed well, and there are no leaks. The 37 degree flare will expand out slightly when mated with a 45 degree fitting and it makes a nice seal.

As they say, your mileage will vary...

Thanks for the help, I will most probably be giving this a shot although it will be a while before I find out if it leaks. This is what I get for being lazy and ordering factory style stainless lines that ended up too long, then trying to salvage it by shortening/splicing in a prop valve.

I think my idea of NiCop lines bent by myself would have worked better.

Bends like butter, less resistance to damage/crushing though.

You pretty much answered your own questions. Maiting the 37 to 45 is totally normal. Your not always going to have an adapter that works with that certain part come out to a 37 degree AN or inverted flare. So joining the two is very common. Just make sure you prep the tube end like it came from the factory. PREP is the key!
