I am looking at the straps and they just look like they will never fit around the tank do you have to straighten them out?

The other ends of the straps hook into a slot under the car on the bottom side of the trunk pan. The bolted ends of the straps bolt to the rear of the tank, towards the rear bumper.

The straps do not come formed to the tank. You will have to bend them. the hook end of the strap loops through the front of the tank support and bolts back together just like factory. The other end attaches to the stud at the rear of the support.

Not sure if these pics help.

Like the other guys said... the hooked end of the straps goes to the front side of the tank... and the end with the hole goes to the rear (over the studs).

I just hooked the straps in the front mounts first... and then bent the straps to conform to the tank... then tightened the straps with the fasteners in the rear.

The fronts hook into the body and a sheet metal screw locks them in.....pictures here. http://www.gastanks.com/Camaro-Gas-T...ducts/1946/0/5
