Default Project mid-engine / 914/LS1/996

I was told its best to post project / project up-dates here.
The car is a 1973 Porsche 914. Lots of V8 cars built over the years.
This is my second one and want to share it with you and hope to get
input because I'm not as smart as I think I am.
I'm going to run a (corvette unit) LS1, got some good heads should put out around 400 hp and use a G-50 five speed transmission, likely cable shifter type. The car is framed up to fit the 996 front and rear suspension. It will have power steering and brakes and weigh around 2400 pounds.
Here are some pictures not in order of build up to this date.

Took everything apart and am going to spray it with a rust inhibitor.

Blasted all the aluminum and painted it up

Put it back together again

(Pic of the rear) front and rear suspension is Porsche 911/996 2000 to 2005

Pick of the steering rack

Need to work on the front sheet metal and fenders

I will keep up-dating the build and I surely have a lot of work to do !

Looking forward to this one! I worked at a Porsche dealership in '76 and have been hooked ever since.

Very nice project. I've been tempting to get a 914 to play with.

I love this project! (closet PCar fan)

Tell me, did you have to do anything to mate the g50 to the LS motor? I've read about mid-plates and clocking issues. Also, are you using any retrofit parts from Renegade? If so, what do you think of them?

Look forward to your updates!
