Default Wastegate Dump

Okay need a little advise.

Some people say it's okay to have the wastergate tube dump in like the picture below. Other say that it is better to go in at an angle to decrease

See quote below

These guys probably know a lot more than me, and not trying to be nit picky, but in all my reading in turbo theory books they stress that, if possible, the wastegate exhaust tubes be angled to go with the flow in the main pipe not across it, to benefit from the low pressure area created by doing this.

here is a picture of another engine with similar entry

The motor on the bottom was built by Nelson Racing engines, if that is really that "bad" of a thing to do I dont think that they would have done it. It is probably one of those things that if you have it at an angle it makes more sense but the difference would be very small and unless you are needing every single HP then it may be done so it looks better.

i know its not that relivent, but all cars for the factory that come with turbos use internally gated setup! these are 'dumping' at the trubo. with this in mind i really dont feel that you going to be loosing much!

but obviously try and make the run as smooth as possiable

thanks Chris

if you have a twin turbo anything - what really matters - it's probably going to be dangerously powerful anyway.
