Tricks for cutting braided steel lines?

I have a throttle cable sheath I need to cut for my Ariel Atom. Any ninja tricks to keep it from fraying? I have a basic set of air tools, dremel, and saws.

Is it better to wrap it in electrical tape or painters tape? high speed diamond plated cutoff wheel the right tool?

Ive had good luck with a chop saw and electrical tape to be honest... Maybe experiment and see what works best for you. Im not too picky about the tape, as long is it is in fact taped.

Even with a wood blade? I think that's all I have on my chop saw.

Wrap it tightly with electrical tape and then cut with a thin dremel high speed cut off wheel.(Clamp the hose in a vice or??) Some people use a cold chisel with the hose on a peice of wood or 12" shears. MAKE SURE to clean it out real good!!

A Dremel with their small abrasive cut-off disks work great.

Always wrap with tape, electrical or duct. Cutoff wheel works great and ive used my bandsaw too with good results

I have this AN hose cutter from Summit and it works like a charm. I don't even put tape on the hose, I just cut it and install the ends.
