Default crank case ventilation.

i need to run a PCV on my ls2 but am having a problem figuring out how to go about it.

In the picture below it shows a port on the drivers side vale cover( green cap on it) and also a vacuum port on the back of the blower intake.

Also on the second picture I have another port on the rear of the supercharger intake and a plugged fitting on passenger side valve cover.

What are people using and how do I run the PCV system?

Tim --- two things have to happen --- in order to draw air (PCV) thru the motor - you need INCOMING AIR from one side of the motor -- and draw it out via a PCV (a valve or otherwise known as a controller vacuum leak) and recycle it into the intake to be returned.

Without making this super complicated --- OIL in the intake air reduces octane -- and will oil up your blower etc. You don't really want to do that.

In order to recycle the crankcase oily air - you'd want to add a "catch can" to separate the oil out of the air.

Now -- in a blown situation -- you must be careful to understand what's INTAKE or vacuum side of that blower vs - POSITIVE pressure (blower or pressurized side)....

What many people do is to just remove the valve covers (or buy new ones that already have) and add a bung and a -12 AN line and just vent this to a catch can with a small air cleaner on it. Thus eliminating the recirculation of the oily air altogether. It just simply vents to atmosphere. Once in awhile you have to drain the catch cans as they accumulate oil.

BTW --- I just put a dual catch can set up from Radium Engineering on my BLOWN Toyota motor in my Lotus 2 11 track car --- and that system is really a oil separator that uses the existing system. I was getting a lot of oil blow by collecting in the air to air intercooler. Not the mention I don't want to reduce the octane of the fuel etc.

Thanks Greg I was thinking about going with a duel system as well I was just confused on where to grab what from which side of the intake. I shortened up the in take a considerable amount and welled the throttle boy on the rear. I do not want to run a vacuum pump so was trying to see what others have done. Thanks- Tim

Wow nice product and great read I saved it to my ibooks library- thanks

The problem I have is that there is no fitting before the throttlebody ...just the two in the intake.
