Default 335 x 18 on a 11 inch rim

Gents looking at some wheels but the rears are 18 x 11 and I want 335 x 18 can I fit them or does it have to be a 12 inch rim? I believe 11.5 is the smallest for that tire. Thanks

Preferably a 12" rim, but you can make an 11" fit if you want to run a shorter sidewall with a lower profile. With a taller sidewall on the smaller rim, you're more prone to get lots of body roll when cornering and the tire will sort of overlap the rim so to speak. At least that's what I've been told. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks the side wall is 335/3018. Tire rack says 11.5 is the minimum.

I put 335/30 on a 10 inch rim once. It "worked" but handling was less than optimal, lots of sidewall roll...

I ran 335s on 11" wheels and worked fine, they measured 12" total sidewall to sidewall

If by "worked" you mean something less than instantly assured death, then yes, I agree with you. I definitely wasn't going to roll the dice riding with you a second time on the autocross that day though.

Ha! I can't remember, which one of us ran the faster lap that day?

Are you doing it just to make it fit and cruise around? Do you like the bulging look?

Because from a performance standpoint, putting a 335 on anything less than 12 is not a good idea. Preferrably you want 12.5 or 13 width for a 335 tire.

Porsche puts a 315 tire on a 12 inch wide wheel. These are their production street cars.
