Default Hurst stick on T56?

I've been looking at sticks for my LS/T56 swap 69 camaro.

Can the Hurst 5387438 stick be made to work on the T56 magnums stock stub?

Holes dimensions appear to be identical but the Hurst stick is serrated on one side while the T56 stub is not.

The T56 stub is threaded, not sure about the Hurst stick.

Can't seem to get the skinny and I have been looking. Hoping someone here would be willing to share. I want a somewhat stock looking stick.

Thanks

Bolt it on.

Even though the T56 stub is threaded, run the bolts a little longer and use a jam nut.

Default HURST shifter handle for sale.

If you are interested I have a brand new HURST chrome shifter stick available. Never installed. Handle number is 4106. Has never even had the shift ball installed. This was purchased from HURST Driveline Conversions with a new Tremec. Perfect in every way, brilliant chrome work and the HURST logo is very well defined on both sides. Manufactured by HURST. $ 65.00 and free shipping in the lower 48 states. I was going to install it in my 69 Firebird w/ a Tremec and have not done so. This is a direct bolt on for your Tremec, made exactly for it. PM me if you are interested.

I think he's looking for a round instead of flat shifter shaft

Yeah, thinking I want it somewhat stock appearing. Trying to stay away from the billet bling but don't necessarily need to advertise for Hurst either. Open to suggestions, reserve the right to change my mind.

This is an old Comp. Plus shifter handle I plan to use. The bolts are just for mockup but I think it will work fine.

Here it is with a copy of the stock shifter plate and a wider opening for the 6-speed. It has the stock boot to seal the weather and will have a decorative boot to fill the hole.

Thanks for the offer. That stick would have been in the 67 + 68s. Obviously it would work for my 69 as well. Might be an option, I'll keep it in mind.

Hurst Drivelines has the stick and offset adapter that works with the factory console.

NOTE: I have the shifter installed in the rear mounting position and made a cover plate to accommodate it because I preferred the ergonomics.

Yeah, I considered that but they want 180 for the round bar stick and 380 for the offset shifter. Thats about 500 more than I want to spend. Not to mention the potential leak issue that someone here had run into with said offset shifter.

Fortunately I found that by moving the console back about 1 3/4" and the built in clocked orientation of the trans I can leave the shifter in its stock postion and not have to spend the extra jack.

I'm looking at a Hurst 538-7438 round bar stick on ebay for about 75. Its 10.75" tall, raked back about 3.75" and leans in about 1.5". Is that about what you've got? Its supposed to be similar to the original 5325 stick in dimensions.

Wanted to post some pics but I guess they are too big, not sure how to resize them.

Thanks
