Default Built LS3 - use Warren PCM & cable throttle or DBW setup??

Okay, I need some help if figuring out the best way to go on a Turnkey motor I'm ordering. It will be a forged LS3 motor and it will come with a custom harness and option for either a DBW setup or the other option is a cable operated setup using a "Gen IV 24x Custom Warren PCM". Can someone help explain the pro's & con's between these setups?

This is going into a 69 Firebird and the builder said he can do either option. They have found the cable operated setup to be much easier to install for the customer with fewer issues, as some setups (depending upon the transmission being used) had compatibility issues that could pop up and take time to sort out. I don't know enough about this to even know what questions to ask in order to make a decision, so I was hoping to get some input? As I mentioned, either setup would come with a custom harness and the correct PCM. The engine will be dyno tuned and broke in before shipment.

I currently have a new Baer Tracker full floater rear end with 3.89 gearing and I'm planning on going with a T56 Magnum (close ratio I think is the best option for me).

Any input would be appreciated as I need to get back to them to go over everything so they can get the harness started. Are there other questions, options, etc. I should be thinking about in this process as well?

thanks, Jake

Why use a 24X when the 58X is way better?

I would also stick with a GM ECM and flash the tune needed for your set-up

IMHO go with DBW. A lot easier to run wires from the pedal to the TB and you have more options when tuning with DBW. If using an LS3 intake it does not have provisions for cable TBs

I would ask the "builder" to elaborate on installation and other issues he has experienced.

Manual Tranny has only the RLO, VSS and BU Lights which are easily connected and if you chose you don't have to use any of them.

Can you tell me why the 58x is better? As I mentioned, I don't know enough about this to understand the pro's and con's. As for the tuning, whichever setup I choose to go with will be dyno tuned before the motor is sent to me. Wasn't the Warren PCM an earlier GM PCM used on the 24x LS1? I'll be able to ask them questions about both setups and decide what I want to do, so I'm just trying to understand what is the best option for my project.

thanks again.

What is a Warren PCM...I've never heard of one? Who is doing the install and/or tuning?
